Tessa is doing her PhD within the M03 project "Cardiovascular and metabolic properties, gonadal functions and steroid metabolism in mice lacking the androgen receptor or androgen production". She completed her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nutritional Medicine (Medical Nutritional Sciences) at the University of Lübeck. Tessa graduated with a Master's thesis in the field of epigenetics and metabolism. She investigated the DNA methylation of metabolic genes in naturally conceived children and children conceived by intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), a method of in vitro fertilization (IVF). The focus was on understanding the relationship between DNA methylation and the metabolic phenotype of the children in the ICSI cohort. For her doctorate, she is now switching to the field of endocrinology.
